We fill up on hugs and kisses- it’s our energy for the day. As we leave our home I get a big hug and kiss that I tell my son needs to last until we see each other again. Not only is it good for your emotional state its good for your whole body-  http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-5756/10-Reasons-Why-We-Need-at-Least-8-Hugs-a-Day.html
So go ahead fill up your tank of hugs and kisses – it needs to last all day!

Day Seventeen:  WHY????

‘Why’ is a popular question in our house.  Most days it’s a simple answer but there are many moments when I just don’t know. I don’t have the answer.  I think it is okay that we don’t have the answers for everything. I think it’s important to show kids that we don’t have to know everything rather we can go explore and learn the answers together.  How about having a box in your house where questions can go and every once in a while you can sit down together and explore some answers together. We can learn together.

Sometimes we have dance parties in our kitchen- we turn the music up and boogie down- we laugh and move and sing – it’s good for not only your heart but also your health! Today let loose a little and move and sing your faith. God gave us bodies to live and move and breathe. Laugh together and create memories that will last a long time! Some of my favorite times are when we all just let loose with a good belly laugh and wiggle!

Day Fifteen:  Friends at Church

Nate has friends that he sees every day at school but there are friends that he only sees on Sunday or when we visit their church.  It’s fun for him to have time outside of worship to play and be together with friends outside church so we try to get together with families outside of Sunday morning to be together and celebrate and live life together. Many of our seniors in church speak about going to church to see friends so why would it be any different for our children? Let’s help them honour those relationships as well.
